 A little about Kyrahn

For as long as I can remember I have had a passion for dogs. We always had a dog growing up never a purebred usually a mutt from the local shelter and it was always a smaller dog as my parents didn't want a large dog in the house. Once I left home and settled into my own place first thing was first get a large breed purebred dog! I researched a few breeds like Weims, German Shorthairs and Great Danes and couldn't really decide until one day I was driving and saw an elderly man walking with his Doberman.. I was in Awe. I knew immediately that was the breed for me.

I contacted a few breeders and did some research and put my name on a waiting list for a puppy. Unfortunately the breeder had a few failed attempts with her breedings and the females didn't get pregnant. I was devastated and didn't want to wait any longer. So I put my name down for a rescue.. I didn't have to wait long when I got a call saying they had a 9 year old rescue named Paul. I immediately said YES I will take him without even meeting him. Little did I know he would be the biggest Challenge I would ever face. Paul taught me so much about this breed and myself. He passed away at 13 from bloat. He was one of a kind and I will never find another like him. Shortly after Paul came to live with me I got a call about a 3 year old female who needed a home. She had her Canadian Championship and was bred once and had a singleton puppy. Again I immediately said yes without meeting her! She was bred by Diane Scott of Grandstand  dobermans. I fell in love with Angel. She was a red girl so confident and full of herself.

In the meantime I started going to dog shows and learning all I could. I was bit by the dog show bug and was hooked immediately. I wanted to get in the ring and start showing Dobermans. I had no intentions on breeding until one day Diane said "why don't you breed Angel, and start your own breeding program". That was all it took and I was planning a litter. That was the beginning of Kyrahn.
